I'm not a lesbian, but I am bisexual, so some of it applies to me as well. Certainly the parts about growing up as a female in a boy's body.

- Started transition in 1997 at 40 years of age, began taking hormones in January of 1998, went full time in June of 1998 on the job. Had SRS one year later plus a day on June of 1999. Had follow-up surgery one year later in 2000. Dr. Schrang did both surgeries in Neenah, Wisconsin. Since transition, I have so enjoyed living as a woman. I feel like my life is truly begun, even though it took me 40 years to begin it. I left my wife and broke my promise to her to never change. However, she accepted me and we are close friends and good co-parents. My children fully accept me and love me completely. My parents and siblings and cousins all accept me. My friends dwindled away, but they were mostly friends through my wife, they weren't hostile, it just sort of happened. I made new friends, good friends, I have a new found family who love and support me. This is a *good* life!
